Candy cane biscuits 

This is definitely one of my favourite holiday recipes. I make it every year. It’s so good and the best part about it, is that it makes your entire house smell like candy canes! It is definitely worth trying out!


Recipe:

1 1/3 cup sugar

1/2 cup butter

1/2 tsp peppermint extract

3 eggs

3 cups of flour

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 cup crushed candy canes

1/2 cup  chocolate chips

optional: extra chocolate chips, melted and extra crushed candy canes


 

Method

Preheat the oven at 350 degrees

Lightly grease a cookie sheet

Mix all wet ingredients in a bowl.

Add the dry ingredients one at a time.

Roll out the dough on the greased cookie sheet.

Bake for 30-35 minutes until light golden brown.

Let cool for 15 minutes. Cut into strips of biscuit. Place cut side-up onto the cookie sheet.

Bake for 15 more mins.

Optional: Dip the biscuit into the melted chocolate chips (only dipping half of the biscuits in) and sprinkle on crushed candy canes before the chocolate dries.
